Inktober 2025 – Day 13 : Drink

This piece feels like a desperate, unending cycle of sacrifice and gluttony. It’s a beautifully twisted interpretation of the “Drink” prompt—ignoring the mundane comfort of a beverage for the visceral necessity of life-force.

The composition strikes me immediately. The inverted figure at the top feels like a martyr, resigned to their fate, eyes dead and weeping blood. There is a heaviness to that hanging head, a silence that contrasts sharply with the frenzied hunger of the two entities below.

I love the texture work on the lower creatures—that organic, cellular webbing makes them look hollow, as if they are nothing but hunger, structureless until they feed. The choice to keep everything in stark black and white, allowing only the blood to scream in red, was the right call. It makes the violence feel fresh and wet.

This isn’t just horror; it’s an emotional portrait of parasitism. It reminds me why I love ink—it captures the darkness in a way no other medium can. Truly haunting work.
